Curtis Slothower

Michael McDonald

Curtis Slothower and Michael McDonald have joined U.S. Bank as branch managers in Reno.

Slothower will manage the new U.S. Bank office at Summit Sierra.

A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, he has been with U.S. Bank since December and has been in banking since 1999.

McDonald will manage the U.S. Bank Meadowood office at 5190 Neil Road.

He joined U.S. Bank from Brookstone, where he had been an area manager since 2002.

Jim Martin

Danett Michelini

Jim Martin has been hired as director of admissions at Career College of Northern Nevada, and Danett Michelini has been promoted to community relations representative at the school.

Martin formerly was division vice president of 52 Corinthian Colleges based in Southern California. He has 47 years experience in private vocational education.

Michelini previously worked as an admissions representative for CCNN.

Lisa Krueger

Lisa Krueger has been named executive director of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival.

She previously worked as marketing and director and executive administrator with several Bay Area high-tech companies including

Silver Lake Partners, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Sybase and Liberate Technologies.

Rick Thomas

Marc Edwards

Rick Thomas and Marc Edwards have joined the staff of The CFO Group in Reno.

Thomas joined the firm as a senior information technology consultant.

He previously worked for Tahoe Forest Health System.

Thomas is a Microsoft Certified Professional and is completing his bachelor's degree in IT assurance and security at Capella University.

Edwards joined the firm as a technology consultant.

He previously worked with Booth Creek Ski Holdings on its purchase and installation of point-of-sale systems.

He is a Cisco Certified Network Associate and holds a bachelor's degree in information technology from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Penny Hunt

Penny Hunt has been promoted by Nevada Security Bank to senior vice president, loan administration manager.

She will oversee loan administration at the five northern Nevada branches of Nevada Security Bank as well as Silverado Bank, a division of Nevada Security Bank with branches in Roseville and Rancho Cordova, Calif.

Hunt, who has more than 30 years experience in banking and lending, joined Nevada Security Bank in 2005.

Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith has been promoted to vice president of the retail properties group in the Reno office of Colliers International.

Smith, who has worked in commercial real estate since 2000, joined Colliers as a sales associate in 2005.

Lizzie Dalton

Lizzie Dalton has been promoted to executive director in the Reno office of The Keaton Raphael Memorial.

She has worked for the nonprofit since 2006, most recently as a family navigator providing guidance to families of childhood cancer patients. She also has worked as a nanny and a ski instructure.

Dalton earned a bachelor's degree in conservation biology from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Tim Brown

Tim Brown has been named director of the Western Regional Climate Center at the Desert Research Institute in Reno. The center is supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Brown previously was director of the Climate, Ecosystem and Fire Applications program at DRI. He joined DRI in 2000.

He earned his doctorate in climatology at the University of Colorado in 1995.

Jennifer Boettcher

Jennifer Boettcher was promoted from server to daytime manager of Dragonfly restaurant in Truckee.

Boettcher formerly worked in upscale Bay Area eateries such as Bridges in Danville and Prima in Walnut Creek. She moved to Truckee in August.
