Michael Bennett has been named publisher of the Sierra Sun at Truckee and Tahoe World at North Lake Tahoe, effective in early June.
The papers are part of Sierra Nevada Media Group owned by Reno-based Swift Communications.
Bennett previously was publisher of the Grand Junction (Colo.) Free Press owned by Colorado Mountain News Media, another Swift Communications company.
Bennett, a 30-year veteran of the newspaper industry, worked for Thomson Newspapers before he joined Swift in 1997.
He is a graduate of West Virginia University.
