Distribution centers add staff

Two distribution centers in the Reno-Sparks area plan expansions that will bring more than 150 new jobs to the region.

Aramark Distribution Services LLC plans to add 120 jobs to its facility at 1195 Trademark in South Meadows, while Ozburn-Hessey Logistics LLC plans to add 35 jobs at its third-party logistics operation in Sparks.

Both of the companies won approval last week from the Nevada Commission on Economic Development for packages of tax incentives for the expansions.

Aramark told the state agency that its new jobs will pay an average wage of $11.25 an hour. The company said it also plans to invest $1.8 million in new equipment at the distribution center.

The company is moving operations to Reno from a facility on the East Coast.

OHL said average wage of its new workers will be $16.97 an hour.

The company plans to invest about $1.7 million for equipment to support the expansion.

Both of the companies worked with staff of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada to win the state incentives.
