Fetter Group picks Reno for western U.S. operations

A Kentucky company that provides fulfillment and printing services will launch a western headquarters in Reno.

The Fetter Group leased 12,000 square feet at 895 Patriot Blvd. in Reno, and employees have begun installing production equipment.

The company transferred one employee from its headquarters at Louisville, Ky., hired a plant supervisor and will make a decision about further staffing once it gets a sense about production volumes at the new facility, a spokeswoman said.

Applied Staffing Solutions of Reno is handling staffing needs.

Fetter Group selected Reno for the new facility because of its access to California, the availability of skilled labor and low operating costs, said Terry Gill, the company's president and chief executive officer.

"We are thrilled to join the diverse Reno community," he said.

The Reno facility will provide printing, bindery, fulfillment and distribution services.

Privately held, the Fetter Group projects sales growth of 20 percent in 2010, partly as the result of business generated by the new Reno facility.

One of the company's two divisions, FetterLabel, is one of the nation's largest providers of labels to the paints and coating industry nationwide.

The division also serves customers in the spirits and specialty consumer products industries.

Its second division, FetterCMD, works with the healthcare industry to create and distribute sales and marketing materials.
