Paul D. Noland has been named chief geologist for Yukon-Nevada Gold Corp. at its Jerritt Canyon Mine north of Elko, and John Barta has been named environmental manager of the property.
Noland previously worked with Barrick Gold on its Cortez Hills and Pipeline projects in Nevada.
He earned a bachelor's degree in geology at Lamar University in Texas.
Barta previously worked as manager of environment and permitting for Golden Predator Mines Inc.and also has worked at the Florida Canyon Mine and the Standard Mine in Nevada.
He earned bachelor's degrees in geology and mining engineering from Texas A&M University.
