DWFritz Precision Automation, a maker of industrial robots in Portland, Ore., has delivered a robotic system to Advanced Refining Concepts LLC in Sparks.
Advanced Refining Concepts will use the half-million-dollar system to produce catalytic plates used in its refining process that liquifies natural gas or other methane fuel.
The robot will produce about 10 catalytic plates a day. Advanced Refining is building a refinery at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center and will sell the refining system to third parties.
