Satview Broadband acquired

Satview Broadband Ltd. of Reno last week was acquired by WENR Corporation of Salt Lake City.

Satview Broadband offers cable television and broadband Internet services in small rural Nevada markets such as Wells, Jackpot, southern Douglas County and Mono County, Calif., as well as in Utah. Satview also plans to use WENR's financial strength to expand into Ely and other similar markets says Satview President Tariq Ahmad.

Ahmad will become a principal with WENR Corp., which acquired Satview Broadband in part for its experience in television programming.

Satview employs five in its Reno offices.

WENR Corp. also owns the licenses for television channels 25 and 43 in Reno and is working to develop financial programming for the channels.

Ahmad says the stations need to be on the air March 1 for WENR to keep the licenses.
