Home theater vet returns to retailing

Brad Bolotin didn't stay out of the game very long.

Two months after folding Wild West Electronics, which Bolotin ran for more than three decades, he's embarked on his newest venture, Encore AV Design.

"After 32 years, I'm not ready to retire," says Bolotin, 57. "I had plenty of other opportunities, I'm just not ready to get out of the game."

Encore AV Design will operate a modest storefront at 275 Hill St., which should open in late July or early August. Landlord AMH Properties is readying the shell space for occupancy.

Encore will focus on home theater and home automation products, such as com-bining home theater, lighting and security systems into one control system. Bolotin says most of the new company's business will come from custom home retrofit and upgrades until new residential construction picks up.

Sean McNeal, former project manager at Wild West Electronics, joins Bolotin in the new venture.

The phone number for Encore AV Design is 690-0115 until the store opens. Its Web site is encoreavdesign.com.
