Terry Surles has been been named executive vice president for research at DRI, the environmental research arm of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Surles previously worked at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute as technology integration and policy analysis program manager. He also has worked as the senior adviser to the University of California's California Institute for Energy and Environment for five years and serves two years as president and chief executive officer of the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research.
He earned his doctorate in analytical chemistry from Michigan State in 1970.
