Sandwich shop sold

Tim Wulf, owner of three Jimmy John's sandwich shops in Reno, sold his Wedge Parkway franchised location to Jeff Guerra and his wife, Rachel Braunstein.

Wulf opened his first store at Ninth Street six years ago, targeting hungry University of Nevada, Reno students. He opened a second location in the spring of 2006 off Robb Drive, and the following spring added a location at Wedge Parkway.

Wulf, a semi-retired former economics professor, says he was nearing critical mass with the popular sandwich eateries and would have had to add more infrastructure to support the operations.

"I thought that would occur with the fourth or fifth store, but it occurred with three," he says. "By downsizing a little bit I don't have to worry about it."

Wulf says with the current shaky retail environment it's hard to make plans for additional stores, and he does not foresee opening any new Jimmy John's franchises.

Dennis Grundy, broker with Murphy Business and Financial Services, brokered the sale of the shop.
