Mustang Geothermal Corp. of Reno said last week it purchased 9,800 acres of geothermal leases in Nevada, paying shares of its publicly traded stock worth $2.1 million.
The company purchased a 1,720-acre lease in Nye County from Minera Inc. of Reno for $450,000 in stock, a 4,420-acre lease in Mineral County from Dakota Resource Holding LLC of Spearfish, S.D., for $900,000 in stock, and a 3,660-acre lease in Lander County from Minera Cerro El Diablo Inc. of Reno for $750,000 in stock.
Mustang Geothermal previously was known as Urex Energy Corp.
