'Bye, Bye, Birdie' opens Friday at BAC

The captivating musical "Bye, Bye, Birdie" tells the story of a rock 'n' roll singer about to be inducted into the army. The performance fby the BAC Stage Kids features great music, imagination and lots of fun, plus more than 40 talented local kids.

Don't be surprised if you find yourself tapping your toes and singing along to the classic musical theatre songs such as An English Teacher, What Did I Ever See in Him?, Put on a Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot of Livin' to Do, Kids, Rosie and Spanish Rose.

Performances are 7 p.m. April 8-9, 15-16; and mstudents and seniors.  

Gardnerville artist featured at NAA Coop Gallery

A new exhibit features regional artists in a special showing in the Nevada Artists Association gallery at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center.

The NAA's Coop Gallery will feature the art of Gardnerville resident Vicky Kingman thorugh April 30.

The Brewery Arts Center Gallery is located at 449 West King St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday

Tips on flower arranging at Sierra Place

Sierra Place senior living presents "Botanical Beauty 101" at 10:30 a.m. April 14 at the center at 1111 West College Pkwy.

Learn some tips on flower arranging presented by Flowers by Charlene. A local florist, Charlene will demonstrate a variety of ways to display different types of flowers in containers of various sizes and shapes. Flowers and one vase are provided.

This event has limited seating and reservations are required by Monday.
