Former Nevada Gov. Bob List to co-chair GOP group

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Former Nevada Gov. Bob List has been named co-chairman of a Republican regional leadership group.

List will take on the role when the Western Republican Leadership Conference meets at the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas in October.

Conference officials announced Thursday that List will help oversee a Republican presidential debate that is scheduled during the four-day meeting.

Former Nevada Rep. Jon Porter is conference chairman.

List says Nevada voters are poised to play the most significant role yet in choosing the next president.

The Western Republican Leadership Conference includes GOP officials from 16 states and territories.
