Mars Petcare US will reduce the electric consumption at its plant east of Sparks by an estimated 542,652 kilowatt hours a year through the installation of new lighting and sensors that turn off lights in unoccupied areas.
The company received a $28,017 rebate from NV Energy's Sure Bet program, which provides financial incentives to large commercial energy users who invest in energy efficient equipment and lighting.
