Health Inspections

The following health inspections are from the period of March 31-April 12:

• Thurman's Ranch House Bar/Lounge, 2943 Highway 50 East, scored 98 points. Speed gun is dirty with biofilm buildup.

• Johnny Rocket's Restaurant, 4600 Snyder Ave. #B, scored 100 points.

• Del Taco Restaurant, 822 E. College Parkway, scored 100 points.

• Bodine's Casino Restaurant, 5650 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Bodine's Casino Sports Bar, 5650 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Bodine's Casino Main Bar, 5650 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• National's Cafe Restaurant, 1701 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. No stem thermometer is available to monitor food temperatures.

• Maverick #409 Convenience Store, 1451 College Parkway, scored 98 points. Found wrapped lunch meats in the sandwich makeup unit with an internal temperature of 46 F. Also found prepared salsa and sliced onions at the hot dog condiment station holding at 44 F.

• U.S. Submarine Base Restaurant, 1894 Highway 50 East, scored 100 points.

• Terrible's #861 Convenience Store, scored 100 points.

• The Cracker Box Restaurant, 402 E. William St., scored 94 points. Various food items prepared and stored for later use did not have the required labels specifically showing the date and common name. The ice machine had no cover as required to protect the ice from contamination. Various foods found in the walk-in refrigerator and reach-in freezer were not organized to protect ready-to-eat foods from potential contamination. The hand-washing sinks in all three restrooms had spaces between the sinks and the wall due to deterioration to the sealing material.

• Genghix Restaurant, 1480 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. Various food items were found in the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer without covering to protect them from contamination. A bag of onions was found on the floor and not off the floor as required. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. The water tray in the ice machine contained a buildup of debris. Items not relating to the ice machine were found stored on top of it.

• Dominoe's Pizza Takeout, 3231 Highway 50 East, scored 100 points.

• Carson City Public Safety Complex Food Facility, 885 E. Musser St., scored 100 points.

• Thai Spice Kitchen Restaurant Sushi Bar, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 100 points.

• Thai Spice Kitchen Restaurant Main Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., scored 100 points.

• Golden Dragon Restaurant, 3250 Retail Dr. #150, scored 98 points. Prepared partially cooked foods and cleaned vegetables are stored in non-food grade plastic bags in the walk-ins.

• Taqueria Uruapan Restaurant, 4601 Goni Road #A, scored 96 points. Containers of prepared foods in the reach-in are not labeled with the name of the food and date prepared. A supply of paper towels is not present at the kitchen hand sink.

• Carson Station Restaurant Snack Bar, 900 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Carson Station Main Bar, 900 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Carson Station Restaurant Coffee Shop, 900 S. Carson St., scored 95 points. Readily perishable spaghetti sauce was found at temperatures that support micro-organismal growth. Specifically the sauce was found between 110 F and 134 F. It was discarded on the spot.

• Mmmmm Yogurt Mobile Yogurt Truck, Box 19579, Reno, scored 100 points.

• Edmonds Park Food Facility, 1555 Bennett Ave., scored 97 points. There was no certified food handler present during food preparation, girls softball organization, at the time of this inspection.

• Galaxy Fandango 10 Restaurant, 4000 S. Curry St., scored 95 points. The popcorn machines have inadequate size front panels necessary for food protection on the front of the units. The ice machine has biofilm buildup in the roof, ice chute, area inside the unit. The kitchen hand sink is not attached or caulked to the wall behind it.
