130 YEARS AGO

For the past two weeks, Mrs. Meyer, a medium, has been giving seances at the Ellsworth House. On Friday evening, an Appeal representative was present and for a couple of hours a spirit came through the medium which claimed to be from Aberdeen, Scotland. All in attendance were perfectly satisfied.

100 YEARS AGO

The well drilling rig ordered by the Industrial Commissioner arrived yesterday. The rig will be experimenting on the Raycraft farm. Gravity ditches and the rivers are now out of the question.

70 YEARS AGO

"Oakie" Smith pitched the Nevada Pack first team to a 14 to 3 win over Carson's league-leading Safeways, who were unable to connect with only three hits.

50 YEARS AGO

The Carson High school band will hold a special rehearsal tomorrow night for the dedication of the Edith Fritsch school Sunday, Aug. 27.

20 YEARS AGO

Despite a call by Gov. Bob Miller for budget cuts, members of the Nevada Legislature continue to spend money on travel to conventions around the country.
