Obituary: Michelle LeAnne Johnston

Michelle LeAnne Johnston, 40, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away peacefully November 23, 2011 in Greeley, Colorado. She fought a valiant fight against diabetes her whole life. She was born February 24, 1971 to Michael and Lisa (Wilson) Harris in Fremont, California. She graduated from Carson High School in 1989 and graduated valedictorian from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in respiratory therapy.

Michelle was an avid Raiders fan and was a member of the booster club. She was an amazing aunt to her niece and nephews. She loved taking her dogs to the park and always enjoyed entertaining guests and having BBQs. Michelle was loved greatly by family and friends. She was loved by all her patients and worked for Dr. Philip Schlager for a number of years.

She loved to make little gifts for everyone ~ from her friends and coworkers to her niece and nephews and patients. She was always giving something.

Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Lisa Wilson Harris of Carson City, Nev.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson of Carson City, Nev.; grandmother, Lillus Bronstein of Hayward, Calif.; uncles, Mark Wilson and Harold "Hap" Bronstein; and aunts, Gay Wilson and Judy Perchonock.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Eric Johnston of Carson City, Nev.; father, Michael (Shirley) Harris of Pleasanton, Calif.; stepmother, Marlene (Del) Miles of Greeley, Colo.; brother, Brian (Dani) Harris of Reno, Nev.; sisters, Angela (Randy) Isaac of Loveland, Colo., and Megan Harris of Fremont, Calif.; stepchildren, Caleb and Breana Johnston of Carson City, Nev.; and grandfather, Irving (Chris) Bronstein of Hayward, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Michelle's life will be held December 10, 2011 at 11:00am at Fitzhenry's Funeral Home, 3945 Fairview Dr., Carson City.
