Nevada Appeal offers $3 subscription to unemployed

A message from Publisher Niki Gladys

We at the Nevada Appeal believe that people struggling to find a job in these hard times shouldn't lose touch with our community. A special subscription offer to the Nevada Appeal will help keep that connection. The Appeal is offering unemployed residents in our readership area a three-month home-delivered subscription for just $3.

The Appeal wants residents who are experiencing difficult times to stay connected to our community - and at the same time help them find a job. With unemployment in Carson City at

14 percent, being aware of job opportunities each day is important. We want to help people looking for a job connect with those hiring as soon as possible, even if that means taking a loss in subscription dollars.

To receive the offer, come to the newspaper office,

580 Mallory Way, during business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Bring with you:

• A valid driver's license

• A current unemployment check stub, or

• A current unemployment debit card, with a copy of your most recent 30-day deposit statement, available at www.eppicard.com, or record of last three payments made from www.express

claim.org. If you need guidance on accessing your online account, call the claims center at 684-0350, press option 3.

This offer is intended for new subscribers. If you have run out of unemployment benefits, or have questions on the subscription offer, please call us at 882-2515 for details on how you can participate.

In addition to our offer for jobseekers, the Appeal is also offering a special for those who are looking to hire. To help employers find the best employees, we're providing a special package that includes featuring your job opening on Page A1 on Fridays.
