Deadline nears for Best Places to Work nominations

As the deadline nears for nominations in the annual Best Places to Work event, organizers say 40 companies from the Reno-Tahoe region have been nominated.

Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 14. Go to www.quantumworkplace.com/nomination/reno/ for a nomination form. Managers and employees can nominate their own companies, and participation is free.

The program recognizes employers who have created positive work environments, and it provides nominated companies with data to help them measure employee satisfaction and engagement.

The contest is open to employers with 15 or more fulltime workers. (A fulltime worker is one who works 30 hours or more.) Along with private-sector companies, nonprofits and government agencies can be nominated.

After nominations are received, an anonymous employee survey will be conducted online by Quantum Workplace. The awards are based entirely on the survey results.

Information from the surveys is later made available for managers to gain insight into their workplace environments.

Finalists and winners will be notified beginning March 31, and they will be recognized at a celebration event on April 28. Winners also will be recognized in the pages of Northern Nevada Business Weekly.

Sponsors are Northern Nevada Human Resources Association, Truckee Meadows Community College, Northern Nevada Chamber of Commerce, Northern Nevada Business Weekly, Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, and the Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce.
