Mother arrested in Nevada fire released from jail

LAS VEGAS (AP) - The 29-year-old mother of three boys who died with a family friend in a house fire in rural Nevada has been released from jail on her own recognizance.

KVVU-TV reported Monday that Sharon Broadhead faces charges of felony manslaughter and neglect charges in the deadly house fire that occurred last week in Pahrump.

The fire killed 5-year-old Brandon Michael Smith, 4-year-old Zachary Broadhead, 18-month-old Elliot Broadhead and a roommate, 24-year-old Crystal Smiley.

Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo alleges Broadhead failed to properly supervise the children, and failed to report at least two fires in the house before the fatal blaze.

Broadhead's attorney, Thomas Gibson, told KVVU-TV Sharon Broadhead was under no obligation to report previous incidents to authorities.
