130 YEARS AGO

It will no doubt be a cause for thankfulness that readers of the Appeal can pick up the paper in the morning and not be confronted with columns of dry Legislative reports. It is hardly probably that one person in 10 ever stopped to read them and that the nine that did not, would have considered themselves swindled outrageously had the reports not been printed. The compositors are grateful the agony is over ... in the future local columns will be enlivened with the somnolent summer months.

An injunction has been filed by M. Quilici prohibiting the Lyon County Commissioners from removing the county seat from Dayton to Yerington.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cameron entertained a few friends at a beautifully appointed dinner Thursday evening of this week. Those invited were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell, Mrs. Helen Williams, Mrs. Otto E. Benham and Judge Clark J. Guild.

Mrs. Keith Holland was awarded a prize for her "indoor garden" at the meeting of Beta Sigma Phi sorority Thursday night.
