Students involved in the MASH program at Carson High School recently worked with Deputy Jessica Rivera on some posters with an anti-bullying message to be shared with an elementary school.

The Carson City Sheriff's Department is one of the partners with Carson High School through the 21st Century Program. In addition to after-school tutoring and one-on-one mentoring, MASH has provided students with many enrichment activities, including cooking in Culinary Arts with Ms. Reynolds, creating ceramic art with Ms. Wandel, CPR certification with school nurse Ms. Story, and developing glowing organisms with biology teacher Ms. Koop.

This week's Senior Spotlight is Victor Favero. He holds a grade-point average of 4.3.

His classes include intermediate drama, honors physics, advanced- placement history, honors trig/precalculus, concert choir and advanced- placement English.

Victor would like to be a world traveler; however it won't pay the bills. He will be going to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, within the next month.

He wants to either be a doctor or international relations. He would like to be involved in Doctors without Borders or maybe working for the UN and help keeping the peace.

Throughout high school, Victor has been able to earn the required amount of credits in the last three years for graduation in order to graduate early.

Even though he has been busy with taking extra classes, either online or at Adult Education, he has been extremely involved in our drama and choir programs here at Carson High.
