Our country needs some bona fide representatives

Why is it wrong to insist that Congress be made to follow the rules and be a part of the processes they enact for us peons? Why should they get million-dollar retirement pensions when we have to be satisfied with a pittance? Why should Congress be allowed to raise their salaries when we commoners have to rely on the boss's good will to raise ours? Why shouldn't they be part of the health plan that they deem is good enough for us? And last of all, how can they continue to spend us into bankruptcy?

The current amnesty DREAM Act that was granted by the president is, I believe, the last straw. By executive order, he has allowed illegal aliens to legally break our laws by doing a form of community service. It's a ruling that goes against everything this country stands for. If the president can do something as outrageous as this, then the Congress that we elect to do the will of the people might as well pack up and go home.

I'm a concerned citizen who believes that this country was formed to give equal opportunity to all individuals who work hard to get ahead, and not to those who are satisfied with being supported by others.

If there are people out there with the same viewpoint, I wish they would wake up and see what is happening to their country right under their noses.

Please vote for better people to represent you this November.

Good samaritan proves that Carson people care

On Jan. 31, my father fell while walking home on King Street near Carson Middle School. He woke up in an ambulance on his way to the hospital.

Thank you to the person who saw him fall and called 911. He is home now and doing well.

This incident proves once again that Carson City is inhabited by good and caring citizens. We can all be proud of our city.

Ron Paul is the bestcandidate to run nation

Stop listening to the corporate elite. On one hand, we can choose a person who is backed by the same corporate elite as Barack Obama, and on the other hand, we can choose a person who supported Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

These choices are exactly what are causing our country to take a serious dive. With unemployment, foreclosures and propaganda at an all-time high, what are we to do? Should we continue to listen to the mainstream media owned by the same corporate elite?

American citizens, wake up to what is running our dollar into the ground, our freedoms into oblivion and our jobs overseas. Please, for the sake of our children, do some real research and turn off your television. Do not allow money, or a smart television ad, or a television ad buy your vote. Do not allow a huge casino mogul to put together his very own caucus after donating millions to a candidate.

Express your concerns however you can. Listen to speeches and look at voting records. Find out why more active military have donated to Ron Paul than all the other candidates combined. Google and YouTube Dr. Ron Paul. Our children's future is at stake and so is ours.
