The Nevada Commission on Economic Development last week approved tax abatements and deferrals for Rice Lake Weighing System, which is developing a manufacturing plant at Fernley.
The company, which said last August it bought at 29,700-square-foot building to make truck scales, told state officials it plans to add 27 jobs at an average hourly wage of $14.81 and a total capital investment of $2.03 million.
The Northern Nevada Development Authority aided Rice Lake with its expansion.
