Obituary: Janis Lyn Tores

Janis Lyn Tores a Carson City resident passed away on January 6, 2012. She was 64 years old. She was born on October 4,1947 in Long Beach, CA to Elsie and James Sullivan. She was raised and attended schools in Torrance, CA. She played the violin as a child and was a lover of animals, bringing home strays at every opportunity. Janis was a Christian, attending Assembly of God churches. She met and married her husband, Larry, in 1975 in Palos Verdes, CA. Together they started T & D Machine Products in 1975 in West Los Angeles, CA and continue to manage it today. Janis enjoyed boating and motorhome camping.

Janis is survived by her husband, Larry of Carson City; her mother, Elsie Sullivan; sister, Jeannie Grim (John) and nephew Michael Grim of Okmulgee, OK; and niece Heather VonHartitzsch (David) of Jenks, OK.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, with a viewing at 11:00am the same day also at Walton's.
