Raggio book-signing at Costco on Saturday

Bill Raggio, the longest-serving state senator in Nevada history, will be at the Costco store in Carson City on Saturday to sign copies of his biography.

The book, the product of three years of research and interviews by Michael Archer, is titled "A Man of His Word: the Life and Times of Nevada's Senator William J. Raggio."

Raggio will be joined by Archer at the signing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Raggio began his public service in 1952 and finished in 2011. He was Washoe County district attorney for 12 years and served in the Senate for more than 38 years. His legislative service includes 10 sessions as majority leader.

He is an attorney in Reno.

Archer is a Reno resident who worked five sessions in the Legislature. His first book was "A Patch of Ground: Khe Sanh Remembered," a first-person account of his Vietnam service during the 77-day siege of that Marine base.
