Obituary: Merle M. Avila

Merle M. Avila, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home on March 5, 2012. He retired 20 years ago from the cement masons and moved to Gardnerville and built a home by Topaz Lake for his wife and himself. Merle was an avid skier and he enjoyed camping, fishing, waterskiing and country dancing. Most of all he loved ATV riding with his grandson, Malik. 'They were two peas in a pod.'

Merle will be in the hearts of his family forever. Merle leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Lucy Avila, six daughters: Charlene, Eileen, Judy, Lisa, Debbie, and Sandy; grandsons: Malik, Blue, and Jordan; granddaughters: Tara, Sheena, Monica, and Bridgett; and great-grandchildren: Ella, Evan, Lillia, Anastasia, and Alexandra.

The were will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10 am at Walton's Funerals and Cremations in Gardnerville, NV, (775) 783-9312.
