The Nevada Landscape Association recognized top professionals and projects in its annual awards ceremony.

Recognition included:

* Education/Research Award: Heidi Kratsch of University Nevada Cooperative Extension.

* Ambassador for the Landscape Industry: Jim Stanhouse of Signature Landscapes.

* Lifetime Achievement Award: Brian Dean of Signature Landscapes.

* 2012 Presidents Award: Signature Landscapes for Shakespeare Ranch at Glenbrook on Lake Tahoe.

* Large commercial installation: Signature Landscapes for Tahoe Forest Hospital.

* Large commercial maintenance: Signature Landscapes for Esplanade.

* Small commercial maintenance: Reno Green for Summit Racing.

* Commercial renovation: 2 Crazy Gardeners for Hearts Companion.

* Large residential maintenance: Signature Landscapes for Shakespeare Ranch.

* Residential renovation: First place, Greenhouse Garden Center for the Bensinger residence; second place (tie), Signature Landscapes for the Farnsworth residence and Greenhouse Garden Center for the Lynch residence; third place, 2 Crazy Gardeners for the Stewart residence.

* Residential installation less than $50,000: First place, Signature Landscapes for Foothill Estates; second place, Reno Green for the Barsodi residence.

Residential installation $25,000 - $50,000: All Seasons for the Dirks residence.
