Sheriff's deputies arrested a California woman Thursday evening after she allegedly tried to cash fraudulent checks with fake identification cards at the Carson Nugget.
Dana Hale, 42, of Sacramento, was detained by security guards and arrested by deputies on 22 false check counts and six counts of possessing bogus identification cards.
She also was arrested on two counts of possessing a dangerous drug without a prescription, two counts of drug paraphernalia possession, one count of burglary and one count of possessing a controlled substance.
The woman told officers she was using "fake California identification" cards and driver's licenses to "cash a fraudulent check," according to the arrest report.
Hale "admitted all of the checks" in her purse and the identification cards and licenses "were false," according to the report.
When asked if the sole reason she entered the casino was to cash a fake check, she told a deputy yes and that "she needed money," according to the report.
Hale also told officers she was in town visiting her daughter who just had a baby.
