Care Flight called in domestic dispute on South Carson Street

A man was taken to Reno by medical helicopter Thursday night with a head injury after allegedly being assaulted, Sheriff Ken Furlong said.

At 8:45 p.m., Carson City Sheriff’s units responded to the area of 3400 S. Carson St. for a report of shots fired. Upon investigation, sheriff’s units detained, and later arrested, a 35-year-old man.

According to Furlong:

The suspect said he met another man earlier Thursday and invited him to his house. After socializing, the suspect said he wanted the other man to leave. The other man, 45, refused to leave, so the suspect shot into the air. The suspect then struck the other man, who was intoxicated, in the head.

Charges are pending.
