Carson High School students received $729 for the library from Carson City Orthodontics.

Carson City Orthodontics recently held a Facebook challenge to Carson City residents. For each new “likes” it received on its Facebook page in a two-week period, it donated $1 to the Carson High School library. It visited the Carson High School library this week to present a check for $729.

Students from Mrs. Riggins’ and Mrs. Mariskanish’s classes attended the presentation and submitted requests for new book purchases. Because of the great support from the students and community, the Carson High Library will be receiving many new popular books for our students. Thank you, Carson City Orthodontics.

CRASH SURVIVOR HOLDS FUNDRAISER

Tiffany Day, CHS senior, survived a near-deadly crash last year. She spent more than five weeks in the hospital. While she was recovering, her parents stayed at the Ronald McDonald House of Northern Nevada. The Ronald McDonald House made it possible for her parents to be by her side daily as she recovered. For her senior project, Tiffany wanted to do something to give back to that organization.

She recently held a volleyball tournament at the high school. Her tournament was able to raise more than $600, which will go to the Ronald McDonald House. We are so proud of you, Tiffany, for making such a strong comeback and doing something to give back.
