CASI plans fundraisers Sept. 21 and Sept. 28

Carson Animal Services Initiative has scheduled two fundraising events this month.

The group’s second annual 5K-9 Fun Run/Walk will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 at Riverview Park on East Fifth Street. Registration will be at 8 a.m.

There will be awards for the first male and female K9 finishers. Every participant will receive a free gift.

Registration costs $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event. Each additional family member costs $10, and dogs participate for free.

The fifth annual Pooch Plunge is set for Sept. 28 in the outdoor pool at the Carson Aquatic Center, 841 N. Roop St. The event will occur at 9 and 11 a.m., as well as 1 and 3 p.m.

The cost is $10 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog.
