Carson City health inspections for Sept. 5, 2013

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Sept. 5. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Butler Meats, 1909 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Capital Coffee, 504 E. Musser St., 100 points.

Jimmy John’s, 3849 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Los Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, 2000 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Mia’s Grill, 407 N. Curry St., 100 points.

Michoacan Restaurant, 557 S. Saliman Road, 100 points.

Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake, 4314 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Red Hut Cafe, 4385 S. Carson St., follow-up inspection, 100 points.

Little Caesars Pizza, 1217 S. Carson St., 99 points. Garbage bin lids were left open.

Dotty’s, bar and lounge, 97 points. There was no proof of a certified food handler on duty.

Tacos El Guero, mobile food vehicle, 91 points. The gaskets on the reach-in refrigerator were damaged. The ice chest drain was leaking. The ventilation screens on the roof were dirty and greasy.

Garibaldi’s, 307 N. Carson St., 88 points. Cooked protein foods were stored above fresh produce in the walk-in. Several cold units had condenser leaks, and pans were collecting the water. The dishwasher was not dispensing measurable chlorine concentration during the final rinse cycle after numerous loads of dishes, corrected on site. There was red biofilm buildup on the deflector shield inside the main ice machine. There was biofilm buildup in the speed gun holster at the bar. There were no paper towels at the kitchen hand sink, corrected on site. There was no proof of a certified food handler on duty.

Red Hut Café, 4385 S. Carson St., 88 points. Cut fruit, vegetables and cooked meat were found with internal temperatures greater than or equal to 46 degrees. An employee cleaned spilled food off the floor and returned to work without proper hand washing. Cold holding units were found without thermometers. Sanitizer buckets did not have a measurable sanitizer residual.
