On Sunday morning the remains of Antoine Crete, one of the victims of the Ophir snow-slide, was dug out of the snow which was packed nearly as hard as rock. The body was bruised and the clothing torn off. The unfortunate man must have been killed at once.

“Diamonfield” Jack Davis, a well known character in the mining world, spent several days in Vegas this week. He inspected some mining properties in this vicinity, enjoying a pleasant visit with his own friends, Frank A. Stevens and J. F. Pelt.

Archie Pozzi, owner of the Pozzi Motor Co., this morning in this city appeared before G.B. Spradling, city recorder, in response to a ticket served on him yesterday charging him with driving on the sidewalks of Carson City. Pozzi, during the snowstorm it was alleged, in a small truck to which a snowplow was attached, was clearing the sidewalks. His hearing was indefinitely postponed.

Nevada Appeal columnist Chris Schaller spent a restful night in the intensive care unit at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. Schaller was hospitalized Feb. 6 for treatment of ulcers.
Trent Dolan is the son of Bill Dolan, who wrote this column for the Nevada Appeal from 1947 until his death in 2006.
