Air Force Airman 1st Class Franco Morales, the nephew of Carson City’s Fidel and Linda Montiel, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate’s degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Morales, a 2011 graduate of Mary Star of the Sea High School in San Pedro, Calif., is the son of Marie and Francisco Morales of San Pedro and the grandson of Margarita Zavala of Wilmington, Calif.
