Paxson wins more than $1 million at Casino Fandango
It was $100 tips to employees all the way around from Bill Paxson at the Casino Fandango on Wednesday.
Paxson, 69 of Gardnerville, had more than 1 million reasons to celebrate with Fandango employees after winning the biggest jackpot in the casino’s history. All it took was $20 for Paxson to win $1, 037,644.93 playing a Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
When informed he had just become a millionaire, Paxson replied, “the government’s going to take care of that. I came close.”
Paxson had the typical response when he realized he won. “Disbelief,” he said.
And Paxson will put the money to good use. “Pay off the mortgage on my house. That’s the first thing.” When talking about the fact he’ll own his home, Paxson said, “That puts tears in my eyes.”
