A two-mile walking tour of Carson City’s east side will be at 10 a.m. Beginning at the steps of the Capitol, the tour visits the site of the former children’s home, the site of the Corbett-Fitzsimmons fight, the former V&T shops and more.

Free admission to all seven Nevada state museums will be offered all day today.

Nevada State Library and Archives will hold its 22nd annual observance of the Nevada State Constitution from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event invites discussion about the origins and meaning of the Nevada Constitution. This year’s topic is “From territory to state — how it was done.” Archivist Jeff Kintop and attorney and former Historical Records Advisory Board member Jim Smith will be featured. The rarely seen interior of the Gold Hill Depot will open from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today for the unveiling of “Nine Cheers for the Silver State,” a painting honoring Nevada governors by Steven Saylor. Nevada Day FamFest will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Curry Street. A family-friendly fun zone featuring food vendors, arts & crafts, music, games, a bicycle show & shine and a Roller Derby demonstration.

A reenactment of the Morse code sending of the state Constitution to President Lincoln by the Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Society will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Capitol grounds next to the miner statue.
