On Tuesday Southwest Gas Vice President, Northern Nevada Division Brad Harris Presented the keys to a Ford 1-ton Flatbed Truck to Doug Brimm, CEO of Kids and Horses, a therapeutic riding center located in Minden. The donation event was held at the Southwest Gas Headquarters 400 Eagle Station Lane in Carson City. The generous donation from Southwest Gas to Kids and Horses was described as an “exciting event for the staff, volunteers and most of all our clients at the ranch,” Brimm said.

He said the truck would be used to transport hay and other bulky materials that are necessary to support the 6-plus acre Kids and Horses Ranch. In the past this work had been done using a pickup not designed for hauling heavy bulky materials.

Founded in 1999, Kids and Horses is a non-profit 501(c)3 PATH certified Therapeutic Riding Center located at 2869 Esaw Street in Minden. The ranch is dedicated to providing a safe and educational equine-assisted therapeutic riding experience to children and adults with disabilities.

Brimm added that they depend on our generous donors, such as Southwest Gas, foundation gifts and our yearly fundraisers to support the important and life-changing work provided at the ranch.

More information about the work that happens daily at the Kids and Horses Ranch can be found on their website www.kidsandhorses.org. Phone number is (775) 267-1775.
