LAS VEGAS — Officials say a server capacity issue is stopping Common Core testing in Nevada, Montana and North Dakota.
The Nevada Department of Education said students in Clark County had trouble logging in to the Smarter Balanced Assessments Tuesday. The computerized English-language arts and math tests for grades 3 through 8 are now halted.
Measured Progress is the contractor in charge of the testing process for the three states and asked that testing be stopped on Wednesday so it could fix the server issue. It’s not yet clear when testing can resume.
State Spokeswoman Judy Osgood said Nevada likely hit the capacity because Clark County School District started the test on Monday.
The testing period opened on March 30 but the nation’s fifth largest school system began theirs after spring break.
