Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Dec. 5. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Aloha Liquor, 4555 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Bella Cakes, 2811 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Mi Casa Too, 3809 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake Pizza, 1894 E. Highway 50, Suite 5, 100 points.

Red Hut Cafe, 4385 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Save Mart Supermarkets, deli department, 3325 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

Taco Bell, 3117 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

Save Mart Supermarkets, bakery, 3325 E. Highway 50, 99 points. Wet wiping cloths were found on food preparation surfaces; the sanitizer bucket was not located near a work station, corrected on site.

Heidi’s Family Restaurant, 1020 N. Carson St., 98 points. Knives were stored incorrectly. Garbage storage container lids were open.

Tomo Sushi & Grill, 135 Clearview Drive, Suite 124, 92 points. Bulk foods were not properly labeled. Biofilm was found on the interior of the ice machine. A home style freezer was being used. Exhaust hood baffles needed to be cleaned. There was no certified food handler on site. The restaurant scored 100 points on a follow-up inspection.

Family Vision, The Bridge, 609 W. Fourth St., 97 points. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Save Mart Supermarkets, deli department, 3620 N. Carson St., 96 points. There was no measurable sanitizer in the wiping cloth storage container. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Sonic Drive In, 1856 E. College Parkway, 96 points. The can opener blade was not clean. There was no certified food handler on site.

Save Mart Supermarkets, bakery, 3620 N. Carson St., 95 points. The three-compartment sink was no properly set up. There was no sanitizer bucket set up, and there was no certified food handler on duty.

Save Mart Supermarkets, meat department, 3620 N. Carson St., 92 points. The hand sink at the front service area was being used to store trash, corrected on site. The three-compartment sink was no properly set up. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Del Taco, 822 E. College Parkway, 91 points. The drive-thru hand sink was being used to store trash, corrected on site. Bottles of cleaner were improperly stored, corrected on site.

Yang’s Kitchen, 111 E. Telegraph St., 89 points. The employee hand wash sink was difficult to access. Food were improperly labeled and dated. Meat cleavers were stored in unclean conditions. Wiping cloths were stored in a container that was missing chlorine residual. Aluminum foil was found on a wall in the kitchen. A certified food handler was not on duty. The restaurant scored 98 points on a follow-up inspection, in which foods were found incorrectly labeled and dated and the aluminum foil was again found on the wall in the kitchen.

Mom & Pop’s Diner, 224 S. Carson St., 87 points. The preparation area reach-in refrigerator was at 53 degrees; a repair was being lined up at the time of inspection. Gaps at the bottom of the entry doors needed to be repaired. Food items were not properly labeled and dated. The vacuum device used to remove waste oil was dirty. The walls and ceilings and lights needed to be cleaned. The diner scored 100 points on a follow-up inspection.
