Justin Simmons: More is on the way

Andrew Murray wrote in his book “The Master’s Indwelling,” “I would to God that every one would ask his heart whether he has said, and is saying every day: ‘I want more of God. Do not speak to me only of the beautiful truth there is in the Bible. That can not satisfy me. I want God.’

Andrew Murray’s paradigm resonates in me like a proverbial earthquake, shaking me down to the core of myself. This quote breaks me out of my complacency and aligns me with my destiny as a son of God.

One of my greatest privileges is to experience and facilitate the more of God offers for myself, my family, C5 Church (Capital Christian Center) and our great city — Carson City.

At C5 Church our mission is quite simple: It’s all about changed lives. In other words, there’s more for the unbeliever, the new believer and the seasoned saint — God has more for everyone.

In fact, 2015 has been declared to be a Year of More, and over the last month, many in our church as well as other churches throughout our region have been fasting for more.

More awareness of God’s presence in daily activities.

More breakthroughs in the political systems locally, regionally and nationally.

More outpouring of the Holy Spirit leading us in power and holiness.

More salvation for our family, friends and neighbors.

More revival — a reigniting the hearts of the people for the things of the Lord.

Friend. Neighbor. God has more for you, too. He wants to cause you to experience and facilitate his more in ways you have never thought possible. Your current position is not your final destination. God has held back nothing to get to you — even bringing him to send his son to die in your place. And even if that was not enough, he has more:

“May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.” — Psalm 115:14.

Do you have a withered dream or incomplete goal? Has your mind wandered around a desert for the past 40 years, steering your life in visionless circles? Has comfort or complacency kept you from doing anything radical for the Kingdom of God?

The time is now to ask for more! Our region is ripe for revival. Your neighbors and coworkers are in need of something more, and you have the solution to their lack — his name is Jesus Christ.

So, ask away — you got the same privilege Jesus gave to his disciples: “And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” — John 14:13.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” — John 15:16.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” — John 16:23,24.

Unleash the more God gives unto this city. Carson City (aka Christ’s City) belongs to the Lord and those who live here are going to be saved, transformed and given more than they could ever ask for.

The future is bright, my friends. More is on the way!
