A man was taken to a Reno hospital via Care Flight medical helicopter after hitting a horse Monday night near Six Mile Canyon.
The 5:45 p.m. crash shut down traffic in both directions on Highway 50, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
The crash still is under investigation.
