Fire at Washoe (old Washoe City). A fire took place where Chapin’s mill was completely destroyed. It was the property of the Bank of California and loss estimated at $12,000, the doing of an incendiary.

Reserved box seats. It has been the custom in Carson to reserve seats at the Opera House by writing their names on the box sheet. Jake Tobriner said that it is a nuisance because a young fellow would come in and take a seat and then he would see the name of another fellow there who had invited the first fellow’s girl.
