Carson City Historical Society hosts annual Garden Tour

The Carson City Historical Society will be hosting its annual Garden Tour on June 13.

This decades-old event will allow guests to tour various houses across Carson City, showcasing gardens and homes. To go on the tour, the Historical Society will be selling tickets in advance which will include the tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by an after party at the Foreman-Roberts House from 4:30-6 p.m. where light refreshments and beverages will be provided as well as live entertainment from local band Me and Bobby McGee.

“It is a big congrats to everyone for participating and opening their homes for the tour,” Paula Cannon, former organizer for the Garden Tour, said. “People really like to come and enjoy the pretty gardens.”

There are 14 spots for gardens this year, and Cannon said they often have some regular families who have been stops on the tour for many years. However, if anyone would like to volunteer their home or garden, they are encouraged to call Mary Dorsey at 775-297-3099.

Tickets are also on sale for $15 and can be purchased at Due Sorella at 202 N. Curry Street or at brownpapertickets.com. Ticket sales will go towards the Historical Society’s fundraiser to complete the interior of the Carson City Carriage House.
