Present bill for buoys on lake Tahoe

Congressman John E. Raker has presented in Congress a bill for furnishing buoys and appendages for the protection of navigation on Lake Tahoe. The measure has been referred to the Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce. The bill reads as follows:

“Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that the Secretary of Commerce is herby authorized, in his discretion, to furnish the necessary buoys and appendages to be used as aids to navigation for properly marking the waters of Lake Tahoe, in the states of California and Nevada, the cost of such buoys and appendages to be defrayed from moneys hereafter appropriated by Congress for the purpose. The buoys and appendages so furnished shall be delivered to the Lake Tahoe Protective Association, or other proper organization, which shall establish the same as aids to navigation in Lake Tahoe, under the supervision of an officer of the Light Service, and thereafter such aids to navigation shall be maintained without expense to the United States, in accordance with section 3 of the act of Congress approved June 20, 1906, entitled “An Act to authorize additional aids to navigation in the Lightout Establishment.”
