Lamar acquires Younger Agency airport branch

The Younger Agency, a Reno advertising firm sold its aiport advertising division to Lamar Advertising Co.

Lamar is an outdoor advertising and logo sign company that operates more than 150 companies in 44 states, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The Younger Agency has been in the public relations and advertising business in northern Nevada for over 30 years. It has handled off its airport business in markets such as Boise Airport, Spokane International Airport, Juneau, Alaska, Grand Junction, Colo., and Elko regional Airports and one bus transit system — Valley Regional Transit in Boise. Lamar’s will take over all the accounts.

The Younger Agency primarily has focused on the development digital network systems as well as LED backlit signage and custom displays throughout the various airports.

“I’ve enjoyed building a segments of the agency’s business over the last 30 years in this interesting and diverse niche business with our airport partners throughout the western United States,” Liz Younger, president and owner of The Younger Agency, said in a statement. “I’m excited to be able to hand it off the business to the U.S.’ leading billboard company.”

Two airport staff members will transition to Lamar and one, Jeana Clark, remains with the agency where she and Younger will continue in the public relations business, special event production, and managing several projects unrelated to the airport business.
