Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for March 24. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Burger King, 3589 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, bakery, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Butcher Shop, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Duke’s Steak House, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Palm Court Grill, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Shinsen Sushi Restaurant, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Ti Amo Italian Restaurant, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

7-Eleven, 3701 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. A sink needed to be cleaned.

Casino Fandango, main kitchen, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. The roof inside both ice machines in the hallway near the butcher shop needed cleaning; an ice paddle was stored on top of a machine. Towels were being used to soak up water in the bottom of the ice scoop holder.

Arco AM/PM, 1017 N. Carson St., scored 96 points. Clutter needed to be removed from inside and outside the premises. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Los Girasoles, 557 S. Saliman Road, scored 95 points. A partially covered pot of cooked rice was found at 95 degrees; staff intended to re-heat the rice for dinner service. One of the two warming units was not set high enough to hold foods at 135 degrees or above. Staff was not using the digital thermometer to verify food temperatures. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Casino Fandango, Rum Jungle Buffet, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 92 points. The hand sink inside the salad buffet was blocked with utensils, corrected on site. The other hand sink inside the dessert area of the buffet was missing paper towels. The thermometer inside the dessert reach-in was broken. Several reach-ins behind the buffet serving line were missing thermometers. A member of the staff’s drink was found uncovered on a cutting board where vegetables were being sliced, corrected on site. The door handles on several of the buffet line’s reach-ins were caked with food buildup.
