Getting Ready for the Holidays Craft Fair is Nov. 20 from 4-8 p.m. and Nov. 21from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Old Post Office, 90 N.Maine St.

NHP Stuff the Cruiser

Help us fill the car with donations for our community’s homebound senior citizens. Nevada Highway Patrol troopers from the Fallon/Fernley district office and Walmart are teaming together for Cram the Cruiser event on Dec. 2 from noon-7 p.m. The senior center is also selling See’s Candy for Christmas and is taking orders. Candy will be available for pickup on Dec 15 at the center.

Non-perishable food items — canned fruits, vegetables, tuna, beans, etc.; paper goods; toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper plates; warm blankets, socks, gloves, scarves; electric Heating pads; household needs; Laundry soap, hand soap, dish soap, dish towels, sponges, light bulbs, batteries, cleaning supplies; magnifying products; especially lighted; small laundry baskets; fun things; large print crossword puzzles, word search; and of course any items to spoil or pamper them!

Fallon Elks Craft Fair

Tables are being rented for $20 on Dec. 5 in the Elks Hall for the Fallon Elks Craft Fair.

Middle school Christmas craft fair

Churchill County Middle School Christmas Craft Fair is Dec. 4 from 6-9 p.m. and Dec. 5 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Admission is $1.

The location is 650 S. Maine St.

Christmas home tour

Grad Night is planning its annual Christmas home tour on Dec. 12 from 3-8 p.m. Come celebrate the holiday season with five homes on this years tour.

Tickets are $20 and $15 for those over 65 years of age. Purchase tickets from the following businesses: Cobblestone Corner, Flower Tree Nursery, Jeff’s Copy Express, Just Country Friends, Red Zinnia and Workman’s Farm and Crafts. All proceeds benefit Grad Night 2016!

Toys for Tots Volunteers

The 2015 Toys for Tots campaign will soon start. We need volunteers from Fallon, Fernley and Silver Springs. Volunteers are needed from the middle of October to the end of December. The work is not hard and at the end, you will find it’s well worth it. For information call 775-276-0421.

Toys for Tots boxes at Highland

Highland Village will be collecting new and unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “toys for tots” program.

Collection boxes are located in the Manor, main entrance and the Assisted Living building at 550 N. Sherman St. Collection boxes will be picked up by the Marines the first week of December so the toys can be prepared for distribution.

Applications are being accepted for the 2015 Toys for Tots. Applications will close Dec. 5.

Toys for Tots stuff the truck

Help your Local Marines and volunteers put a smile on a needed child face by coming down to the Wal-Mart store on Nov. 28 between 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and donating a new unwrapped toy. Help us stuff a military truck.

All donation stay within the community.

Community Christmas Eve dinner

Please come join us for a community dinner on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) at the Fallon Fire House from 4-7 p.m.

Food for fines

Return your overdue library items Oct. 19-Dec. 7 and pay your fine with nonperishable food. Bring one food item for each overdue library item.

All food will be donated to the Out of Egypt Food Pantry.

Christmas trees

The CCHS Track and Field Team is having its 14th annual Christmas tree fundraiser. Once again, they will have fresh cut, farm grown trees right from Oregon.

All Douglas firs up to 8 feet tall are $30. Noble firs up to 8 feet tall are $50. Larger trees are available for an extra charge. Sales will begin Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. and will continue each weekend until the trees are gone. (Last year the team sold out the first weekend.) The lot will be located in the Valley Plaza Shopping Center in front of Louie’s Home Center. Local delivery is available, but supplies are limited so don’t wait and miss out.
