The growing economy has prompted Enterprise Rent-A-Car to take its local business to the next level.

Enterprise recently invested $2 million on a new facility. The business, located at 3003 Mill St., will offer car and truck rentals as well as car sales services.

It is Enterprise’s largest neighborhood location in northern Nevada, according to a company spokeswoman.

The facility employs 20 people — mostly sales agents, mechanics and drivers.

In terms of the clientele, Stephanie Ginter, senior sales executive, said the business is targeting locals buying pre-owned vehicles and trucks; customers that are having repairs made on vehicles; and residents looking to rent instead of driving their own cars for leisure.

At a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks were made by Len Stevens, president of the Reno Chamber of Commerce and Howard Puterman, Enterprise’s vice president and general manager in Nevada.

The newly constructed 5,800-square-foot office replaces a former Enterprise Rent-A-Car facility at the same location. It houses the three business lines, along with a regional training center. Additionally, there is a separate 3,500-square-foot automatic car wash and a truck wash facility at the location.

“Increasing our size and service offerings enhances our ability to meet the varied needs of consumers and business customers alike in the Reno area,” said Puterman.

“Our investment in this new facility speaks to our commitment to our customers and the (growing) local community, whether they’re renting or buying a car.”

Puterman added, “Enterprise Rent-A-Car operates not only as a key provider for insurance replacement, weekend getaways and special occasions, but also as a local transportation alternative.”

In addition, Enterprise Car Sales selects clean, well-maintained vehicles and offers them at competitive prices, while Enterprise Truck Rental offers a range of trucks, cargo vans, tow-capable pickup trucks and commercial-grade trucks to customers for commercial and personal use,

Enterprise incorporated environmentally friendly elements into the design and construction of the Reno office. Specifically, the facility includes low-impact development drainage for rainwater, energy-efficient insulated windows, and LED lighting in and outside the building. In addition, its car wash reclaims a minimum of 85 percent of the water it uses, and a bottle filling system helps reduce plastic water bottle waste.
