No serious injuries after Carson City School bus involved in an accident

Several injuries were reported following a school bus accident Monday afternoon on Ormsby Boulevard in Carson City

School officials said that 43 Carson Middle School students were on the bus around 2:30 p.m. when bus rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped for a turning vehicle ahead of that. Superintendent Richard Stokes said that no serious injuries were reported on scene, as no ambulances were on scene, but several students reported injuries. Stokes said the district was unaware of the extent of the injuries, Monday afternoon.

Emergency responders were on scene, and the Nevada Highway Patrol took over the case, as one of their off duty deputies was in one of the vehicles involved in the accident, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A second bus arrived on scene and took all of the kids home. Parents were notified.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
